Pay Attention to the Psychology of Men Who Cannot Become Fathers!

Family, Couple and Marriage Counselor Anila Çelik gave information about the subject.

Father psychology is a detailed and comprehensive type of psychology that is wondered by many people and has managed to be addressed in different research topics. The father, a type of parent, is the person who plays important roles at every stage, from the birth of the baby to the time it grows up to become an adult. Although the reason is unknown, many studies show that fathers cannot contribute to the development process of their children as much as mothers. The factors that cause this situation can be both social and physiological.

If you think that you cannot communicate with your father, generally assume that you make him angry, and do not know how to make the communication between you healthier, there are issues that you need to evaluate psychologically. For this reason, the processes must be handled differently from each other.

Although becoming a parent is a desired and demanded situation for many people, some people may not have such a request. This situation is definitely very special. For this reason, it is absolutely wrong to ask couples who do not have babies why they do not have babies.

In some cases, even if people want to become parents, they may encounter physiological obstacles. This situation is as disturbing for men as it is for women. The psychology of men who cannot become fathers usually occurs in a self-blaming manner. Whatever the problem is, after a while the man starts to think that the problem is about himself. Many men may request a divorce during this process. The demand for divorce is not for marrying someone else or having children. Even though he loves his wife very much, he thinks that they cannot have children because of him.

If you are going through such a process, you may not understand each other and may be hurting each other unintentionally. You should give each other time to solve the problems you are experiencing, and postpone communication when you think that you cannot communicate well.

will also try to get a share of the cake with alternative campaigns under different names on the same days.

It is expected that 35 million people will place nearly 500 million orders worth 300 billion TL on the internet alone during November.

That's why both global and Turkish e-commerce companies are looking for ways to reach consumers with intense campaigns and advertisements in the virtual world.

While campaigns provide great benefits in purchasing necessities at the most affordable prices, it is also a fact that many people push their credit card limits due to the influence of advertisements and make purchases that they later regret.

Sevda Köseibiş, Digital Marketing Director of Avantajix.com, Turkey's first cash-back shopping site, made suggestions on the issues to be considered in campaigns, based on the experiences of her members, each of whom is a "discount engineer".

Here are 7 suggestions from Sevda Köseibiş on "How to Shop Smartly on Discount Days":

1- Make a List of Needs: Campaigns and advertisements may confuse you. You may buy things you don't need and regret it later. So, a few days before the sale days, make a list of the products you really need.

2- Do Preliminary Research on the Products on Your List: Decide in advance which brand and model of the products on your list you want to buy. If you are planning to buy the product online, go to the store and examine it beforehand.

3- Determine Alternative Products: Determine the alternative brand and model, considering the possibility that the product you are considering buying will not be included in the campaign or may be sold out before you buy it.

4- Do Price Research: Research the prices of the products on your list both before and during the campaign to determine whether the discount is realistic. While doing this, you can use sites that make price comparisons on the internet.

5- Use Refund Sites: It is possible to earn extra money with just one more click on the internet. If you go to money-back sites instead of going directly to the site where you will shop, you can also earn additional income from these sites.

6- Shop from Stores You Know: Campaign periods are also the times when malicious people are most active. Be sure to be skeptical of exaggerated discounts. Research the site you will shop from carefully. Go to the site by typing its name in the address bar, not via social media or links sent to you. Shop from the sites of corporate companies that you know and whose reliability you are sure of.

7- Read the Shipping Information Carefully: Find out whether the shipping is paid or free. Sometimes a product purchased because it is cheap may cost more if shipping is charged. Do your price research based on price + shipping fee.

Köseibiş stated that local and global campaigns in November can be followed on Avantajix.com.

Watch out for sagging double chin!

Medical Aesthetics Physician Dr. Sevgi Ekiyor gave information about the subject.

The term "jowl" is used for the looseness and excess skin that occurs as a result of the skin and fat layer under the chin sagging over time. The main reasons for sagging chin may be:

*Aging: The skin loses its elasticity and collagen production, which can cause the chin to sag as a result of aging.

*Genetic Factors: Factors such as family history, genetic predisposition, and skin type may also affect the sagging of the chin.

*Weight Changes: Rapid weight gain or weight loss can cause changes in skin and tissue structure. While the skin stretches in overweight or obese individuals, the skin may sag after weight loss.

*UV Rays: Harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun can reduce skin elasticity and cause sagging skin.

*Improper Posture: Constantly being in a low-headed posture can cause the neck and jaw muscles to weaken and the chin to sag.

*Poor Nutrition: Unhealthy nutrition can negatively affect the health of the skin and cause sagging. Insufficient protein intake can make it difficult for skin tissue to regenerate.

*Smoking: Smoking can reduce skin elasticity and cause sagging.

*Inadequate Exercise: Insufficient physical activity can cause weakening of the jaw and neck muscles.

It is important to adopt healthy lifestyle habits to prevent or reduce sagging of the double chin. Exercising regularly, eating healthy, paying attention to skin care and protecting from UV rays can help prevent sagging chin.

ARE YOU AFRAID OF BEING HAPPY?

Individuals with fear of happiness (cherophobia) may deliberately avoid experiences that evoke positive emotions or happiness, out of fear that something bad might happen to them when they are happy.

Fear of happiness is called "cherophobia" in the psychological literature. This definition emerged from the combination of the words "chairo", which comes from Greek, and "phobia", which is derived from "Phobos", known as the god of fear in Greek mythology.

Expert Clinical Psychologist Cansu Karaman from LifeClub Health Services stated that cherophobia is a more common condition in Eastern cultures and said: “Happiness is a positive feeling that everyone wants to achieve. The state of mind that makes a person worry in the happiest times that something bad will happen to me or my happiness will be ruined is known as 'fear of happiness'.

This is very common in some cultures. For example; In Japanese culture, there is a belief that happiness will be followed by trouble and pain. In our country, there is a sentence that is often said: "He who laughs a lot, cries a lot." That's why many people may have negative thoughts such as "I'm so happy, something bad will definitely happen to me soon."

How to Understand?

Pointing out that people with cherophobia deliberately avoid being happy, Psk. Cansu Karaman listed the symptoms of the disease as follows:

People avoid situations that will create happiness or they worry that "something bad will definitely happen to me" after these situations.
People with cherophobia may tend to avoid positive thoughts.
They may turn down opportunities that they know will make them happy.
They may tend to avoid their social environment and activities.
What is the reason for this concern?

LifeClub Specialist emphasizes that past traumas are the main reason for the fear of happiness. Clinical Psychologist Cansu Karaman said, “Negative life experiences that people have had before or those around them may trigger this situation. For example; It can be effective for a happy person to have something bad happen to him or witness it right after his happiness. "This situation is related to the person's selectivity in perception," he said.

How to Deal with Cherophobia?

Psk. Cansu Karaman said that research on cherophobia has revealed that this situation negatively affects a person's well-being and explained ways to cope: “With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, people's negative automatic thoughts need to be identified and new alternative thoughts need to be developed. If you are experiencing this situation and it negatively affects your functionality, definitely try to get support from a clinical psychologist.”

Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Serdar Öztürk gave information about the subject.

In recent years, liposuction, which has been preferred by many people who want to correct their body shape and get rid of stubborn fat, offers a way to achieve healthy results when applied appropriately. However, this popular surgical procedure involves important factors to consider.

*Patient Health is Priority

Candidates for liposuction should provide honest information to their doctors about their general health condition. Liposuction can be risky, especially for people with serious health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, or blood clotting problems. Your surgeon will evaluate you before surgery and determine whether you are suitable for the procedure.

*Realistic Expectations

Experts remind that body shape can be changed as a result of liposuction, but the procedure should not be used only for weight loss. Liposuction is often used to remove stubborn fat from specific areas, and results may vary from person to person.

* Healing Process

The healing process after liposuction is important. After the procedure, it is necessary to rest, protect the bandages and stitches in accordance with the doctor's recommendations, and pay attention to the healing process. Additionally, regular check-ups and care as recommended by the doctor can help maintain long-term results.

In conclusion, liposuction can be a healthy practice under appropriate conditions and expert supervision. It is important for potential candidates to meet with a plastic surgeon to get more information and make a decision about the liposuction procedure. Understanding the factors to consider before and after the procedure can help achieve successful results.

What are the symptoms of scabies?

Emphasizing that when individuals are infected with scabies mites, it takes between four and six weeks for the skin to show the first reactions, LifeClub Medical Director Dr. Celal Yücel Batmacı said the following about the symptoms of the disease: “Among these reactions, the most common ones are intense itching, especially at night, acne-like rashes and rashes, blisters with crusts, and wounds caused by constant scratching.

In the early stages of the disease, the cause may not be understood because skin rashes are similar to acne, mosquito bites and other skin complications. The reason that distinguishes scabies from other types is the relentless itching of scabies. This itching is usually very severe in children and the elderly.

Another distinguishing feature of scabies is the appearance of long lines and holes in the skin. These raised lines are either greyish-white or flesh-coloured. These lines are tunnels made by female mites just below the surface of the skin. 10 to 25 eggs are laid by each female scabies in these nests.

Scabies mites can live anywhere on the body, but they prefer certain parts of the body more than others. Among these; between the fingers, wrist, elbow or knee folds, around the waist or belly, breasts or genitals, and in very young children and the elderly, the head, neck, face, palms and soles.”

What is the treatment and how long does it take?

Stating that scabies can only be treated with prescription drugs that kill mites, Dr. Batmacı said, “Scabies disease does not heal on its own, because scabies mites do not leave the body on their own.

The most common treatment is to apply a cream or lotion to the entire body from the neck down. This cream or lotion is left on the body for 8 - 14 hours and then washed. In some cases, pills may be prescribed to treat scabies. Depending on the medication used, treatment lasts up to three days.

Even though the medications used to treat scabies kill and neutralize scabies mites and eggs immediately, they cannot immediately relieve the itching felt. This is the result of an ongoing allergic reaction in the skin. Antihistamine pills or hydrocortisone creams can be used to relieve itching, especially at night. However, hydrocortisone cream will change the appearance of the scabies rash, making it harder to diagnose the condition. Therefore, it is necessary to use the cream only with doctor's approval. In addition, tea tree oil and aloe vera creams can also be used to relieve itching. However, they must be used under the supervision of a doctor.

To prevent the spread of scabies, once an individual is diagnosed with scabies, anyone who has close physical contact with the person should also be treated. Activities such as sleeping in the same bed, holding hands, and bathing together make it possible for scabies mites to pass from one individual to another. Because it takes four to six weeks for symptoms to appear, it is recommended that all members of the household be treated.

Scabies mites can live on the surface of clothing, bedding, furniture or towels for two to three days. To ensure that any mites left behind are killed, it is necessary to wash used linens and clothing in hot water and ideally dry them in a hot dryer. "Unwashable items should be kept in a closed plastic bag for seven days," he said.

An operation that made Turkish doctors proud at the hospital where the world's first heart transplant was performed...

Assoc. Prof. received an invitation from South Africa. Dr. İsmail Ateş and his team were the first team to apply the Mitraclip method, a non-surgical heart valve treatment, in Capetown.

Assoc. Prof. is the practitioner and educator of Mitraclip and Triclip methods developed by Abbot, which are among the non-surgical heart valve treatment methods, in Turkey, the Middle East, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Africa. Dr. İsmail Ateş and his team were appreciated for their success with a series of operations they carried out in South Africa. Turkish team, in the world, Prof. Dr. It was the first team to initiate Mitraclip cases at Groote Schuur Hospital and Tygerberg Hospital in South Africa, the hospital where the first heart transplant was performed by Christiaan Barnard.

Giving information about their study, Cardiology Specialist Assoc. Dr. İsmail Ateş, “Prof. Dr. It was very proud to be the team that performed the first Mitraclip case at Groote Schuur Hospital in South Africa, the hospital where the first heart transplant was performed by Christiaan Barnard. We also performed the procedure at Tygerberg Hospital, one of the important hospitals in Capetown. We performed Mitraclip procedure on 5 patients during our 3-4 days stay. “We received an invitation again at the end of November.” Said.

“They were very impressed.”

Dr. stated that they were very impressed by the procedures performed by their South African colleagues and the experience of Turkish doctors. İsmail Ateş said, “Me and my colleague Prof. Dr. We performed the operations together with Gökhan Kahveci. He takes part in the imaging part of the operation and I take part in the application part. There were very difficult cases for a startup, but we handled them all without any problems and they were very satisfied. They were impressed by both our approach and experience. “They invited us again around the end of November.” Said.

The doctor who performs the most Mitraclip cases in Turkey…

Dr. is the physician who has reached the highest number of cases in Turkey since the introduction of the Mitraclip method in the world and in Turkey. İsmail Ateş said, “We had 80 cases in 2022. We have approximately 100 cases in 2023, we think this number will increase to 125 by the end of the year. This shows that our experience in this field has increased. We can perform such operations more safely. When we look at it from the perspective of overseas patients, this is a great advantage for health tourism in Turkey. Because these operations can be performed more conveniently in Turkey compared to surrounding countries. Our hospitals are highly equipped, and our team is very experienced in their field. It is still not implemented in countries such as Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Iraq. We started it in a center in Kazakhstan, and we started it again in Iran. We just launched in South Africa. We also did a case in Tunisia in the North African part. In these regions, studies on health tourism can be carried out in this area and a potential can be opened. This will also provide an advantage for the country's economy.” He spoke as follows.

Cardiology Specialist Dr. Murat Şener gave information about the subject.

It is also known as the power the heart gives to the cardiac vessels during contraction. Pulse is heart rate. To summarize, our pulse rate shows how many times the heart contracts in a minute. We can also understand our pulse by placing our fingers on certain parts of the arteries. These regions; wrists, temples, both sides of our neck. The most commonly used place to check the pulse is our wrist. When we turn our hands so that our palms are facing forward, there is an artery we call "radial artery" just on the outside of our wrists. We can feel our pulse very easily when we check this area by applying light pressure with our finger. In a healthy person, the pulse rate at rest should be between 60 and 100 beats per minute. If the pulse is lower than this value, it means low pulse; If it is high, it is called 'high pulse', that is, tachycardia.

How to Treat Low Pulse?

First of all, the reason for this should be determined. The problem of low pulse rate first brings to our mind problems related to heart health. The patient's history is also extremely important in the cause of low pulse. Diagnosis should be made and treatment should be planned accordingly, taking into account the patient's daily physical activity intensity, age, gender and existing diseases. Permanent pacemaker treatment should also be considered in appropriate cases. If our average heart rate is between 50-65, this is actually an extremely healthy situation. The closer our average pulse rate is to 80-90, the less healthy we are.

How to Increase Low Pulse?

The only and simple way to do this is to insert a pacemaker. If the problem causing low heart rate is not temporary and cannot be corrected with some measures, we have only one treatment option, and that is to insert a pacemaker. However, not every patient with a low pulse can be fitted with a pacemaker. If the pulse level cannot be increased to the desired level after all precautions are taken and correctable problems are corrected, a pacemaker is required in most cases.

To protect heart health;

* Consuming fruits and vegetables, known to be heart-friendly, in season.

*Keeping blood pressure under control.

*Elderly people should have their blood pressure checked regularly.

*Pay attention to a low-salt diet. Low-calorie foods should be preferred.

*Make an exercise plan appropriate to age and daily activities and follow this plan regularly. For heart health, especially cardio-based exercises should be included.

*If we are overweight, we should try to get rid of it and stay at the ideal weight.

* Keeping cholesterol under control

*Avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption

* Paying attention to your diet and eating healthy, natural foods

Experts, in breast cancer patients; He drew attention to complaints such as cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness and palpitations. These symptoms, which indicate 'Fluid Accumulation in the Thoracic Cage and Pericardium in Breast Cancer', definitely require treatment.

Thoracic Surgery Specialist Prof. explains what you need to know about the subject. Dr. Özkan Demirhan explained: “The membrane surrounding the lung is called pleura. The membrane over the lung is called visceral pleura, and the membrane surrounding the chest wall is called parietal pleura. The space between these membranes is called the pleural space. In some cases, fluid accumulation occurs in the pleural space. The most common cause of cancer-related fluid accumulation is lung cancer, followed by breast cancer. When there is fluid accumulation in the pleural space due to breast cancer, there is also fluid accumulation in the pericardium, which is called pericardial effusion. Normally, there is minimal pleural fluid in the pleural space, and this fluid is produced and absorbed in a certain balance. In fluid accumulation in the pleural space due to breast cancer, either excessive fluid production or the drainage pathway in the membranes that absorb fluid in the pleura is blocked. It is not possible to detect it. "Fluid accumulation in the pericardium is caused by radiotherapy seen in breast cancer, pericardial involvement of cancer, and sometimes reactionary fluid accumulation." Said.

Watch out for the symptoms!

Referring to the complaints caused by fluid accumulation in the pleura and pericardium, Prof. Dr. Özkan Demirhan: “In pleural fluid accumulation, there are complaints depending on the amount of fluid. The patient may not have any complaints when the amount of fluid is low. There may be complaints such as cough, shortness of breath, chest pain (pain decreases as the amount of fluid increases), and fatigue. Pericardial fluid accumulation (malignant pericardial effusion) can lead to more serious and life-threatening symptoms than pleural fluid accumulation. It is usually accompanied by pleural effusion, but sometimes only pericardial effusion may occur. Patients with mild pericardial fluid may not cause symptoms, but their heart rhythm is still increased, meaning they may complain of palpitations. In advanced pericardial effusions, there are complaints such as shortness of breath, excessive heart palpitations, and low blood pressure. In addition, there is a condition that prevents the heart from working, which we call cardiac tamponade. “This is a life-threatening situation.” He spoke as follows.

How is the diagnosis made in these patients?

Referring to the diagnostic methods of fluid accumulation in the pleura and pericardium, Demirhan said, “When breast cancer patients experience the complaints mentioned above, they should definitely consult a thoracic surgeon. First, patients' histories are taken. Information about his illness is obtained. The treatments he received are evaluated. On physical examination, lung sounds were decreased on the side with pleural fluid. Heart palpitations and low saturation may occur. Then, radiological ultrasonography, direct chest radiography and tomography are performed. Echocardiography is performed in addition to CT to detect pericardial effusion. "Echocardiography shows the strength of heart contraction and how much the heart is affected by fluid." He gave information as follows.

How is the treatment done?

Touching on the details of the treatment process, Dr. Özkan Demirhan continued his words as follows.

“Treatment depends on the amount of pleural fluid and pericardial fluid detected. The effect of the amount of fluid in the pleural space and the amount of pericardial fluid is very different. There may be liters of fluid in the pleura and it may not cause serious complaints. An increase of 100 cc of fluid in the pericardium can lead to serious clinical symptoms. Fluid in the pericardium should always be a priority in treatment. Since it is usually detected simultaneously with pleural fluid accumulation, the treatment plan should be made together. Minimal pleural fluid can be monitored or a simple pleural catheter can be inserted. If the general condition of the patient with moderate to severe pleural fluid is appropriate, pleural drainage and pleurodesis (pulmonary membrane gluing) should be performed with VATS, which is a minimally invasive procedure. During this procedure, a permanent pleural catheter can also be applied to increase the success of the procedure. A permanent pleural catheter can be inserted into patients whose general condition is not suitable for VATS.

The treatment option for pericardial fluid is pericardial drainage during VATS for pleural effusion, and in the meantime, we prevent the recurrence of pericardial effusion by opening a pericardial window.

If only pericardial effusion is present, pericardial drainage is performed under local and general anesthesia.

We apply local chemotherapy drugs to patients with pleural and pericardial effusion both for treatment and to prevent recurrence of fluid accumulation. “With this procedure, we both prevent fluid accumulation and administer chemotherapeutic drugs that act on cancer cells, because these patients sometimes have difficulty receiving systemic chemotherapy.”

Drawing attention to the rapid growth of the pet products industry in recent years, National Fair Organization General Manager Selçuk Çetin said; “The pet products industry has shown tremendous growth momentum in recent years. It has become a 250 billion dollar market with a growth of 150% in the last 5 years. This year, we hosted visitors from more than 120 countries at Petzoo Eurasia. These figures are an indicator of how globalized our industry is and Turkey's potential in this field. "Nearly 1000 companies and brands introduced their products and services to their visitors at the fair." said.

Stating that 98% of the participating companies were very satisfied with this year's fair, Çetin said: “We have already started the preparations for PETZOO Eurasia, which we will hold in 2024, by planning the predictions of the demand for our fair well in advance. Saying 'We couldn't fit into our space', we will take place in the main entrance halls 1 and 3, one of the largest halls of the Istanbul Expo Center, in an area of 30 thousand square meters between 9-12 October 2024.” said.

Our country will become a global brand in the pet industry

Çetin emphasized that the growth of the sector is not only limited to the domestic market, but also has a great impact on the international market, and said, “Thanks to the investments and innovations of Turkish companies, the Turkish pet industry appeals not only to local consumers but also to customers around the world. This is an indication that the Turkish pet products industry is internationally competitive and a world-class player. The participation of international professional visitors and purchasing delegations was also high. I believe that these visitors, in particular, contribute to the international promotion and growth of the Turkish pet products industry.” said.

Çetin pointed out that the sector has reached a significant size in terms of total consumer expenditures and said, “In the sector, which is approaching 1 billion dollars in total consumer expenditures, 250 million dollars of it comes from exports. Our industrialization drive is growing day by day. Approximately 600 companies operate in our sector, which exports food to 70 countries and cat litter to 65 countries. Our industry will increase its exports to 400 million dollars by the end of 2023 in search of new markets. “I believe that we will become a brand country and a big industry in the pet industry in the near future.” said.

Events Made Their Mark on the Fair

PETZOO Eurasia Fair, which attracted great interest from visitors, hosted a series of exciting events for pet lovers. One of the remarkable events was the "Pet Fashion Show" held for the first time in Turkey. Different breeds of dogs took to the podium with their owners and offered fair visitors an unforgettable fashion show experience.

Beware of War Psychology, Children!

Clinical Psychologist Hazal Akşahin gave information about the subject.

War and conflict can have profound and lasting psychological effects on children. These effects may vary depending on a number of factors, including the child's age, exposure to violence, duration of conflict, and availability of support systems. Here are some basic psychological considerations:

Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Children exposed to the horrors of war can experience trauma, which can lead to the development of PTSD. Symptoms may include nightmares, flashbacks, severe anxiety, and emotional numbness. These symptoms may persist for years after the conflict ends. The constant threat of violence and loss of a sense of security can lead to chronic anxiety in children. They may develop intense fears such as separation anxiety, agoraphobia, or social anxiety. Losing loved ones, being displaced from their homes, and the harsh realities of war can lead to depression in children. They may experience feelings such as hopelessness, sadness, and withdrawal from social interactions. : Children in war-affected areas often experience multiple losses, including the death of family members, friends, and the loss of their homes. Grief can be overwhelming, and the ability to cope can vary greatly between individuals.

Depersonalization

Some children exposed to long-term violence may become desensitized to violence, normalizing behavior that would be considered violent or cruel in more peaceful environments. This can have long-term consequences on their empathy and emotional development. For some children, exposure to violence and trauma can lead to aggressive behavior and behavioral disorders. They may have difficulty controlling their anger and may engage in destructive behavior.

Disruptions in Education

War often disrupts education, which can affect a child's development and future opportunities. Many children in conflict zones cannot attend school regularly, leading to deficiencies in their knowledge and skills. In some conflicts, children may be exposed to extremist ideologies that can shape their beliefs and identities. They may become prone to radicalization or join armed groups. The psychological trauma experienced by children in war may have intergenerational effects. Children growing up in such environments can carry the trauma and its consequences into their adult lives, affecting their own families and communities.

It is very important to provide psychological support and counseling for children affected by war. Protective factors such as a stable and supportive family, access to education, and a safe community environment may help alleviate some of the psychological effects. Additionally, efforts to promote peace and stability in conflict-affected areas can help reduce children's exposure to war trauma.

Neslihan Özyurt said, “Although breast cancer is 150 times more common in women than in men, men are also at risk. Breast cancer may develop in 1 in every 8 women and 1 in every 1000 men during their lifetime. "According to statistics, the average age of breast cancer diagnosis is 62," he said.
Medical Park Ordu Hospital Medical Oncology Specialist Dr. Neslihan Özyurt made statements about breast cancer.
“Pay attention to these symptoms”
Referring to the symptoms that may be seen in breast cancer, Specialist. Dr. Neslihan Özyurt, “Symptoms of breast cancer; It presents as a bloody or transparent discharge from the nipple and a painful or painless palpable mass in the breast or armpit. Other symptoms include inward pulling of the nipple, collapse or deformity, peeling of the nipple skin, crusting, wounds on the breast skin, redness or orange peel-like edema, swelling and growth, deformity or asymmetry. "When such findings occur, a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible," he said.
“Sedentary life increases the risk of breast cancer”
Specialist Dr. Özyurt said the following about the risk factors of breast cancer:
“Breast cancer risk factors; age, race, smoking and alcohol use, a diet high in red meat and saturated fats, a sedentary lifestyle, menstruating for a long time (starting before the age of 12 and continuing after the age of 55), never giving birth or having your first child after the age of 30. Contrary to popular belief, only 10 percent of diagnosed breast cancer cases are hereditary. The risk doubles if a first-degree relative (mother, sister or daughter) has breast cancer. Having two first-degree relatives triples the risk. "Although it is not certain, the risk of breast cancer also increases in women whose father or brother has breast cancer."
“It can be detected at an early stage with screening tests”
Specialist said that screening tests are performed to detect cancer at an early stage. Dr. Özyurt said that the purpose of screening tests is to diagnose cancer before symptoms appear. Specialist noted that the disease is often in an advanced stage when symptoms appear. Dr. Özyurt said, “If detected in the early stages, more than 90 percent of the patients live normal lives. That's why October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by the World Health Organization since 2004, in order to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and awareness of breast cancer. In October, educational activities are carried out to increase awareness of the disease and efforts are made to ensure that people show interest in screening programs. In our country, screening is recommended for women between the ages of 40 and 69, with a mammogram every two years, and a breast examination once a year from the age of 40 onwards. "If there is a first-degree relative diagnosed with breast cancer, these examinations should start 5 years before the age at which the relative diagnosed with cancer was diagnosed," he said.
“Other ways of early diagnosis”
Explaining other options for early diagnosis, Specialist. Dr. Özyurt shared the following information:
“Other methods used for early diagnosis are tests such as breast ultrasonography, breast MRI and blood tests when necessary. After detecting a mass in the breast, the diagnosis is made by pathological examination of the biopsy performed there. Treatment decisions are made after the disease is staged using systemic imaging methods. "In the treatment of breast cancer, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal treatments, immunotherapy and targeted treatments are applied according to the stage of the patient."
“Recommendations to protect from breast cancer”
Expert who gives suggestions to protect against breast cancer. Dr. Özyurt said, “Weight control, balanced and healthy nutrition, especially quitting smoking, are very important. Care should be taken to avoid smoking and alcohol, brisk walks for at least 1.5 - 2.5 hours a week (reduces the risk by 18 percent), breastfeeding for at least 2 years after birth, avoiding stress, and complying with routine screening tests. He concluded his statements by saying, "It is recommended that individuals with a family history of breast cancer receive genetic counseling and start screening checks at an earlier age, considering that the frequency of this disease may have increased in them."

Sports injuries refer to injuries that occur as a result of physical stress or trauma to the body while playing sports. These injuries can often cause damage to muscles, ligaments, tendons, joint tissues and bones. There are many causes of sports injuries:

*Bad Techniques: Not using the right techniques or making wrong movements during sports can increase the risk of injury. Incorrect positions or movements can put undue stress on muscles, joints and other tissues, causing injuries.

*Overuse: Excessive repetition of a particular sport or activity can create undue stress in certain areas. This can increase the risk of injury over time. Overload can cause problems such as tendon strains and bone stress fractures.

*Poor Warm-Up and Cool-down: Starting sudden and intense physical activities without adequately warming up the body can make muscles and joints more susceptible to injury. Likewise, not cooling down adequately after finishing activities can also increase the risk of injury.

*Weak Muscles and Flexibility: Weak muscles can have difficulty supporting joints, which can increase the risk of injury. Likewise, inadequate flexibility can cause muscles and tissues to strain and tear.

*Lack of Physical Preparation: Not making adequate physical preparations before doing sports or starting intense sports activities immediately after a long break may increase the risk of injury.

*Environmental Factors: Environmental factors such as uneven playing or training areas and slippery floors may increase the risk of injury.

*Genetic Factors: Genetic factors such as the individual's anatomical structure, bone density, and stability of joints may also affect the risk of injury.

*Misuse of Accessory Equipment: Inappropriate or misused equipment (e.g., shoes, protective equipment) during sports can increase the risk of injury.

*Inadequate Rest: Not providing the body with adequate rest can lead to extreme fatigue and poor muscle function, increasing the risk of injury.

*Collision or Force Effect: In team sports or sports that require contact, collisions and force effects as a result of contact between players or falls may cause injuries.

To prevent sports injuries, it is important to take precautions such as learning proper techniques, adequate warm-up and cool-down, using proper equipment, increasing your physical preparation and giving importance to rest.

Blood pressure disease (hypertension) is a serious condition that has a significant impact on heart health. Proper nutrition helps blood pressure patients keep their health status under control and reduce the risk of complications. Here are the important points that blood pressure patients should consider and tips on healthy nutrition:

1. Limiting Salt Consumption:

Salt is a factor that can increase blood pressure levels. It is important for blood pressure patients to limit their daily salt intake. Processed foods and fast food products should be avoided, and meals without or less salt should be preferred.

2. Foods Containing Potassium:

Potassium is a mineral that helps regulate blood pressure. Consuming potassium-rich foods such as bananas, oranges, potatoes and spinach helps balance blood pressure.

3. Increasing Magnesium Intake:

Magnesium can lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels. It will be beneficial to add magnesium-rich foods such as nuts, green leafy vegetables, seeds and whole grains to your diet.

4. Low Fat and Low Cholesterol Diet:

A low-fat, low-cholesterol diet supports heart health. It is important to choose oils such as avocado and olive oil, which are known as good fats, and to stay away from saturated fats.

5. Regular Exercise:

Regular exercise is an effective way to regulate blood pressure. Doing at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise a week helps control blood pressure.

6. Limiting Alcohol and Caffeine Consumption:

Alcohol and caffeine negatively affect blood pressure. Limiting alcohol consumption and reducing caffeine-containing drinks is very important for blood pressure patients to protect their health.

To cope with blood pressure disease, it is vital to adopt healthy eating habits and engage in regular physical activity. It is important to consult a professional to create a personalized nutrition and exercise plan for you.

Beware of Psychological Changes During Pregnancy!

Psychiatry Specialist Assoc. Dr. Cemil Çelik gave information about the subject.

Psychological changes during pregnancy and their treatment are among the topics frequently discussed by my clients lately. Pregnancy is a special and different experience for every woman. Expectant mothers may experience conflicting emotions from the moment they learn that they are pregnant. It is obvious that women take on a different psychology and experience emotional fluctuations during pregnancy. The most common psychological change we encounter is depression.

Hormones secreted during pregnancy cause women to experience psychological and physiological changes during pregnancy. Physical changes such as stretch marks in the abdomen and leg areas may disturb some pregnant women. The expectant mother's body is programmed to protect and nourish the baby. This may leave the expectant mother tired and weak.

The reason why women experience psychological changes during pregnancy is not only due to hormonal changes. Factors such as the type of birth and the baby's health condition may trigger the expectant mother to experience emotions such as stress, sadness and anxiety. Feelings such as tiredness, helplessness and frustration in the face of other roles in life may be felt due to having assumed lifelong responsibility for the baby you have given birth to. These feelings and thoughts are normal reactions that have been experienced throughout human history.

Psychological changes can become inevitable during pregnancy when combined with body hormone secretions against many changes that occur both physically and psychologically. It is expected to experience opposite emotions such as joy, excitement, anxiety and sadness at the same time. Depressive mood is observed in 15% of pregnant women. At the same time, after the baby is born, more serious psychiatric symptoms may occur, although they are rare. Chief among these are psychological conditions such as depression, fear, or not accepting the baby or not taking care of the baby. In such cases, a psychiatrist's opinion must be obtained.

What are the Psychological Changes During Pregnancy?

Psychological changes during pregnancy may occur mostly when women feel uncomfortable with their physical changes. Most psychological feelings that occur after both physical changes and hormone fluctuations can be considered completely normal as long as they do not impair functionality. However, in this process, psychological changes that require intervention should not be overlooked, which can progress from severe depression to suicide. In this period of both physical and hormonal chaos, many women may encounter problems such as not being able to accept pregnancy. Some problems experienced by pregnant women during this period are listed below:

*There may be anxiety about not being liked by one's spouse because of the weight gained.

*Stretch marks and excess weight are a situation that causes a pregnant woman to experience great stress.

*Problems such as dizziness, fatigue, and excessive sleepiness, which are seen in many pregnant women, also affect expectant mothers psychologically.

*Pregnancies that occur during an extremely stressful period in family life may lead to psychological changes.

*As the birth approaches, the expectant mother may become stressed about how she will give birth, whether it will be a cesarean section or a normal birth.

*Mothers who have gone through a traumatic or extremely stressful pregnancy may begin to worry about holding their babies in their arms.

*As the birth approaches, expectant mothers may begin to question whether they can be a good mother.

*Mothers-to-be who have gone through physical changes may also encounter negativities such as not liking themselves as ugly in appearance.

*Pregnant women may experience negative thoughts or concerns, such as whether they will establish a proper bond with their expectant fathers when their babies are born.

*Negativity and psychological problems of expectant mothers also affect the people living around them.

*It is known that expectant mothers who have previously experienced psychological problems are more likely to experience negative effects such as stress and irritability.

*Many factors such as lack of sexual reluctance, excessive crying, tension and fatigue also affect expectant mothers psychologically.

*The effects of women's psychological changes during pregnancy may be felt by the baby over time. In this case, in addition to spouse, family and social support, it is necessary to get help from a psychiatrist.

Do Psychological Changes During Pregnancy Affect the Baby?

Expectant mothers may encounter psychological problems for many reasons. So, how this situation affects the unborn baby is one of the issues that expectant mothers are most curious about.

The baby in the womb feels everything, negative or positive, which includes many reasons such as the expectant mother's eating, drinking, stress, sadness and anxiety. The extreme happiness experienced by expectant mothers is reflected in their hormones.

Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist Gynecologist Op. Dr. Mehmet Bekir Şen gave important information about the subject.

HPV virus can be found in both women and men without any symptoms. However, in some cases, they can cause very serious complaints.

Symptoms of HPV virus in women include:

• Wart formation in the genital area.

• Pain during sexual intercourse due to warts.

• Warts occurring in an area close to the urethra may cause burning and discomfort during urination.

Some types of the HPV virus can cause the cells that form the cervix to mutate. In mutated cells, the mechanisms that control cell division are disrupted. Thus, cells may divide uncontrollably, leading to proliferation and the formation of lesions and tumors. This condition is popularly known as cervical cancer. Almost all patients with cervical cancer are HPV positive. This reveals that there is a strong relationship between the HPV virus and cervical cancer. Therefore, women who suspect the HPV virus are advised to consult a specialist doctor as soon as possible.

How to Understand HPV Virus in Women?

The HPV virus often manifests itself with warts in the genital area. The size and number of genital warts may vary from person to person. They may cause discomfort as a result of the genital area rubbing against the clothing, and in some cases, they may bleed. Again, a feeling of pain and discomfort occurs during sexual intercourse. There are many variants of the HPV virus. Some symptoms may vary depending on the type of virus. Some HPV viruses can even cause cervical cancer in women. Warts and lesions caused by HPV virus; Distinguishing it from other wounds is only possible with a doctor's examination. Therefore, patients who suspect genital warts are advised to consult a gynecologist without delay.

How is HPV Virus Treated in Women?

HPV virus treatment in women can be treated in different ways depending on the patient's complaints and the effects of the virus on the patient. Generally, patients undergo regular medical check-ups against cervical cancer. If they have genital warts, they can be treated by freezing, lasering or burning them. Genital wart creams and surgical operations may also be preferred during the treatment process. All stages of the treatment are planned specifically for the patient by the doctor. In this way, patients are regularly checked for serious conditions such as cervical cancer and genital warts, which can be quite disturbing, are treated.

Cataract in children refers to the maturity of the eye's natural lens. This situation causes vision problems when the lens, which normally helps focus light on the retina, does not lose its transparency. Although cataracts generally occur as a result of the aging process, they can also be seen at the lowest level in children. Methods and treatment methods for cataracts in children may differ from cataracts in adults.

The causes of cataracts in children may be known:

Congenital Causes: Babies may be born with cataracts when they are born or in their first year of life. This condition is generally distinguished from problems that occur during development in the womb.

Genetic Factors: Family history or genetic factors reduce the risk of cataracts.

Injuries or Infections: It may cause cataracts in countries, in hospitals or in the city, conspicuous in children.

Metabolic Problems: Some metabolic diseases can cause cataracts in children.

Treatment of cataracts in children may vary depending on the cause and the amount of cataract. Excludes treatment possibilities:

Surgical Intervention: In children, cataracts are usually surgically removed and replaced with an artificial lens. This allows you to have a clearer view of the game. During surgical intervention, care is taken to ensure that growth does not affect eye development.

Use of Glasses or Contact Lenses: After surgery or when surgery is not suitable, children's glasses or contact lenses can be used. This may help improve vision.

Post-Surgery Treatment: After surgery, it is important to follow the treatment and treat possible problems.

If you suspect vision problems in children or if any symptoms are performing differently, it is important to see an eye care professional. Early diagnosis and treatment can help him have his best life potential.
